Long day...
Jul. 31st, 2007 07:50 pmToday started at 6 am after falling asleep at 2.
The surgery center called early say mom could come early to finally have her foot surgery.
I wake up soon after and had to get everything together as best I could. It was hot. 7:15 am we arrived and the difficult task of getting mum set began.
Again, the surgery center really crapped out. They said "not here" because she had nervous blood pressure and blood sugar elevated. So at 9:20 after wasting so much time there, we were sent to the local hospital in Lancaster. It took till around 11 before everything was in place. My mom didn't like the sitting, the waiting, the effect of not being able to eat anything or even have a tiny bit of water for twelve hours when all of her medication makes her painfully dry.
Dad and I had some lunch there still waiting and some snacks later. I did my best to keep my mind settled with that slime game and some writing. We finally left at 4 pm, somehow. We were back at 5 pm at home and I was there with mom for a bit as we got supper and she finally got settled in with what she needed and I took a small nap before she did herself (not sleeping at all the night before).
So that was the day that was. I hope that tomorrow, after some rest, I'll have some chance to write and deal with a few other things.
I did make one particular decision ---
There will be one less Mecchen chapter.
21, 22, 23 and epilogue.
I decided I didn't need 21 and 22 to set up the ending, as 21 would do find. So the next chapter become all the more critical. For now, I am going to relax...X_X
(edit on typos - apologies, brain not all working at the moment - the reason for all this is, mom has had a bone which was partly removed years ago, her little toe and since then it has regrown into a weird, mutant mass and pressed into the soft tissue of her foot causing terrible pain and ulcers. It's the metatarsals, full-removal to prevent something from happening again)
