ElfirW: did you watch the new asos video?
ElfirW:  it's gonna be expensive ;_;
ElfirW:  It went by rather fast, but every disk, limited edition, is over $50 retail. and it's going to be four disks
ElfirW:  that's $200 for the whole damn show!
ElfirW:  but broadcast order is one of the special edition things, not the regular version thing. so I can live with regular edition and not getting things like armbands and headbands :p

To me, that one note really ticks me off. Clearly they don't give a shit about how the series was presented by its creators. Therefore, they can go fuck themselves as far as I'm concerned. I hope they like the returns from having two disks of filler all piled together in an absurd and useless way. FUCK WHOEVER CAME UP WITH IDEA! I hope you all rot in Continuous Hell, the worst kind of hell from a movie I saw. I hope objects are rammed up every oriface of your body and you're screaming and bleeding for all time. You stupid fucks are screwing with a creative work in the nastiest way possible...for money. I don't fucking care if the cheap editions have the episodes and nothing else but PUTTING IT IN THE RIGHT ORDER in the limited edition! WHAT THE GODDAMN FUCKING SHIT MOTHERFUCK PISS SHIT CUNTING FUCK GODDAMN FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK *rips their fucking heads off and shits on them*

It's gonna take some time for me to stop being pissed about this. Buying the special edition doesn't bother me so much as they trying to control the order of the episodes in a way which goes contrary to the creative minds involved in it.

I want to buy a fucking inani permanent form screaming suffering eternity gun to take to the offices of Bandai America. FUCK THEM ALL.

I don't care about the money but the raping of the creative construction of the episodes is too much for me to bear. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
FUCK THEM!!!!

If I hear a fucking PEEP out of them them during season two of Haruhi, I'm gonna kill them and everyone they know in the most painfully-creative way possible *horns out*.

I'm still buying the limited edition version. But these fucking retarded elitists who are working on it and don't think Americans will "get" the scrambed order or whatever fucking excuse they're using can go fuck themselves to hell. I give a shit about the monetary cost but I think it's really low they can't honor the creative vision of the series for less than 50 bucks a disk.

PS - from a forum

"The Special Editions were the only way TV Broadcast Order could be released in North America as an "extra". It was pretty tough to get that approved as even Japan doesn't have TV Broadcast Order on DVDs.

So that is why you're seeing Broadcast Order on the special editions instead of regular, because it is an obligation (not a choice) to put Japanese DVD order on regular version"

Fuck Japan then. Fuck them all in Japan. I'd drop an inani nuke on the lot.

I still am tempted by the limited edition and I probably will still get that version but I'm gonna look for a place with a really good discount.

Well, the special editions come with 2 dvds, bonus crap, an audio cd (about $14 on amazon as it stands)...

Pricey, but it still seems to contain good shit.

Oh I agree but it just utterly perplexes me how they'll be released on the standard edition. All this "okay, gotta put in disk X now...and switch over to disk X later" shit is just a mess.

I imagine it will just be straight forward episodes 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 in regular order. I'm not sure how they will handle the next episode previews....

The show is watchable in order, not that I've ever done that.

Still but look at it...okay

You have it ending with the reveal of Haruhi in the first one.

Then you have the concluding Haruhi episodes. I must admit that sends things out with a bang.

Then you have two disks of essentially filler. Baseball, AI menace, a mystery first part. Okay but nothing mind-blowing.

Then you have the conclusion, a weird student film wedged in there, music episode, sci-fi battle and do-nothing episode.

The pacing is all off.

Memento is a decent story in chronological order but it loses a lot. Haruhi isn't quite that but it does lose something when you see it in the other way. It's something special about how it's paced and you're trying to piece it all together, instead of being fed the story on a place like any old school drama. It takes it a step towards being a mediocre school drama. Its structure is the main appeal.

Hmm, I'll wait a year until it comes out in a series set and watch them in the correct order. I'm not paying 50 or 60 dollars for a disc of ANYTHING, regardless of how much I like it. Fuck this "premium" bullshit with anime where a couple of episodes of any show is $30. I'm just tired of dealing with this fan-rape, where because you asked for it, it costs a ton of money!

Odds are good I'll buy the special edition discs, anyway.

I do agree, however, that that kind of sucks... the default order will not be broadcast order. I'm assuming they do it that way to futureproof it. By that I mean, let's assume the show ever makes it onto, say [adult swim], it'd be in order. Then again, it'd still be out of the order it was originally intended to be in.

Ah well. At least I know better. I won't have to watch them in any predetermined order.
