"Today is the longest day of my life..."

Thanks Jack. Just wanted to use that since I finished the season dvds up to the present. I find especially with the prices on DVDs now with tv shows and anime, Netflix is really the only economical way to see DVDs especially if you want to see TV DVDs (see Star Trek for all series for 2,500 dollars and you can rent it in about two months on Netflix which will range you between 40 and 100 in that timeframe). But I digress. Sorry.

Today was longish but nice. I'm getting my period for New Years so now I get all the pre-stuff. Other than that, it was interesting. I had an idea for a story based on Cassandra, I drove out to Little Rock to a Hungarian meat market. We picked up some Liver Kolbasz, Walnut Loaf, and Bacon biscuits. And stopped at Charlie Brown's on the way back. It's one of those tourish trap locations on the way to Las Vegas. It has every useless trinket and over 100 varieties of milkshake, ostrich burgers, oddles of sodas to pick from, root beet and game meats like bear, rattlesnake, tortoise, buffalo (all these in steaks, jerky, and burgers and various combos), elf...I mean elk ^^;;, alligator, kangaroo, wild boar, antelope, and squab (to name a few offered). It's a pretty significant place, three buildings tied together. I saw a bible action figure there once, "Action-Ready Moses with Ten Commandments" it was too pricey to buy on a joke and dusty.

We had grocery-buying after that and then drove all the way across the valley. Little Rock to West Palmdale (around 13 miles) to Best Buy to use my gift card from Christmas. I was going to try to get a magazine subscription but it turned out you can't use the gift card to pay for it so I skipped that. I just got Serenity on DVD. Then we walked over to the bookstore to see if my books came in. Three did. The Nine Modern Muses *nuzzles Akemi for that*, 1491 an interesting pre-Colombus look at American civilization, then The Speed of Dark, which is a Nebula award winner which caught my eye. Here's the flap description "The Speed of Dark is a gripping exploration into the world of Lou Arrendale, an autistic man who is offered a chance to try a brand-new experimental 'cure' for his condition. Now Lou must decide if he should submit to a surgery that might completely change the way he views the world . . . and the very essence of who he is." ^^ Should be interesting. I'm still waiting on We3, a nifty graphic novel about housepets turned into experimental assasins. Other than that I also got the two El Goonish Shive books I ordered. I still have Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with Burl Ives to watch and "Santa Clause is Coming to Town".

And I had what wound up as a lot better conversation with a loving friend than I was worried it would be at earlier on because I was faltering with what I wanted to express to them. But with my emotions as they are today probably not too big of surprise my fears really cropped up with a vengence. Hopefully things will be more manageable for me tomorrow, thanks to everyone for their support. Love to all.
