I don't really have the left over energy to really lose myself in the rest of the fight scene in the new chapter of Mecchen tonight, so I'm gonna post on a couple of little short dreams I had. I'll kinda expand upon them beyond what was originally present in the dreams.
First - The Magical Girl From Outer Space
Basically it's about a normal guy who one day sees a rock from space crash near to him. Classic setup for an alien encounter. The only problem is the purple ooze that pours out of the space-rock is the essense of a magical girl which takes him over and demands use of his body. She makes further demands, like beautification. After it's just what can be done with cosmetics and whatnot. But soon she recovers some of her old powers and is able to convert him into a form more pleasant to her. They'd tustle often for control and the guy (about college-age) would have male and female friends. Some of them might have magical girls/ monsters hiding out in them (the background would be that magical girls were sent out throughout the galaxy in little rocky time-capsules to save planets from nasty critters trying to wipe out all life.) I think the fun part would be the guy and his magical girl "parasite/symbiote" tustling for control and his own efforts at finding a cute girl to hang around with when he's got an obnoxious girl in him trying to find a cute boy of her own/ giving unwanted advice and causing all sorts of embarrassments. Over time their relationship would develop in certain ways I haven't quite decided yet. But I would love to see something like this drawn.
The 2nd isn't quite as interesting in its development but I kinda like the visual of a young girl being led by an older girl. The younger girl is utterly embarrassed and unsure and the older wants her to go play with her. The basic idea is thus. A pre-teen girl finds a book with potions (classic setup too). But she finds within, a recipe for a true-form potion. She remembers a sad old man who lives across the street and she always thought that his face wasn't his true form so she decides to brew it up for him and give it to him with some tea. Unfortunately, she leaves it out one day and her father, thinking she mixed two kinds of cola together and smelling an alluring fragment when bending to sniff it, takes a swig. His daughter comes in too late to stop it from changing him (those who are not in their true forms smell a sweet, irresistable aroma from the true-form potion).
The father swiftly is changed into a little girl a few years younger than his daughter. It's soon revealed by the mother that her husband actually used to be one of her best friends when they were kids but one day, she walked under a rainbow and came to class next day as a boy. The mother was the only one who remembered what happened. She says she always loved her friend, so what came afterward felt natural, despite the changes. She lamented her friend/husbands melancholy when she gave to their daughter.
There's not a lot past this point but I know the daughter gives the potion to the old man as well and he also changes into a little girl and the daughter plays with the new girl. The father isn't sure whether to play. But the mother kinda encourages him with "You were born a girl. You've always been a girl. There's no way around it. This is who you are." It's been so long and it's been so ingrained in her to be like a boy, but in the end, her girlish spirit wins out. I'd assume that some form of life-insurance policy would help the family and the new little girl could be explained as a long-lost cousin but I'd want to go forward with something that feels original first. This concept feels the weaker of the two but I've always loved telling someone who gets turned into a girl (truthfully) that their true form is female and they have no way out of it. This is who they were always meant to be. ^_^ *bounce*
And that's about it. I'll post more of these sorts of things when I get more ideas. I'm tempted to commission artist friends to draw the latter (I doubt I'll ever get it in a form I'd want to write to completion).
