Interesting Day...

Allergy shot.
Talked with a guy who ran miltary intelligence in Afghanistan (husband of a fellow student). Writer, huge left-winger. Smart and well-versed on novels. His wife is brilliant too. And their kid obviously will be able to the rule the earth. (jk). But it was interesting to look listen about that area of the world (and him compare his department which dealt with police-style deal-making, compromise and bartering to achieve peace and stop insurgents vs. the CIA which just would come in like hot-shit and throw money at people till they got what they wanted). It was a fun forty minutes sitting there on a pleasant day. Except that both were smokers *cough* Fortunately the wind was blowing the other way.
Then I went to the bookstore and bought "The Ugly American". Then home and seeding my newest ideas for Mecchen (and how to rewrite parts I might regret writing now...small parts. I need to check that Nana's and the librarian's first scenes work for me with how the characters are and will develop).
