This movie is a who's-who of the spirit world and Japanese lore. There is a catalog of Yokai with cameos that took me over 20 minutes to look through (and that was just skimming them). It definitely heaps on the spirits like few other films. 181 of them. If you can name a Yokai, it probably made a cameo in this film.
Unfortunately, my video player gets a migraine when I try to screencap all 181 slides...and it autoplays it, so I need to be fast. Instead, here's a survey of some of the creatures in the film. I like the umbrella spirit.

As for the film itself, it's a melancholy tale about growing up and losing sight of spirits (and a caution that forgotten things can get angry). It's a good film but the spectacle of the yokai menagerie definitely flies over the rest of the film.
