A Dream about a Mystical Academy

major_kerinaI had to run right from bed to the Wii to copy this dream down immediately. I must capture it.
I absolutely loved this dream. In it, there is this perfectly normal boy (how do I know?...well I was the witty-tongued narrator).
One day, the boy is turned into a cute girl. There seems to be a small period of acclimation for the new girl but that wasn't really a major part of the dream. The point was it attracted the attention of the head from a newly-rebuilt mystical academy. More stuff that is assumed in the dream but I felt it went like there was an urgent need for her to join the Academy or else other things could happen to her and beyond which could be even worse. The Academy itself was an amazing strcture. It was a disk that floated high in the air between planes of existence. It seemed to hold them stable and strengthened with its mere presence.
At least one of the classes was taught (or it was an early orientation) in a large, deep, and circular auditorium. I rememeber just girls but I wasn't sure if it was a girl's-only or even transformed girls-only Academy (which would be especially cool but I'm not going to read into it unless I try writing it). The auditorium itself looked like it would hold around a thousand to a few thousand people. Despite the size, anyone selected to speak seemed able to be heard by anyone else in the room (magic, probably).
I don't remember much about the main teachers but I do remember that there was a pledge that was given as the new-girl character was walking in at this point (I was a pretty lax narrator at points). It felt kinda like a model UN (narrator's term - kinda like representatives from many universes that have come together?)...at least so far as the narrator thought...but the pledge went something like "I swear to devote myself to science as well because *so really lyrically-elegant phrase about amounting to the magic of science and the science of magic and the mystical powers revealed through understanding and also an openness of mind toward even the strangest things*. That's a really inelegant version. The original was soooo pretty and much more nuanced. At which point the teacher in the center brought up something else. The new girl main character talked to another girl who had already become a friend there. The instructor brought up the new girl, for some strange task and made a particular comment which then inspired the new-girl main character to say "It would be the least weird thing I've seen here."
There was some part missing...or you had to be there...but all the girls got the giggles from that...which made the head teacher a little more serious and vaguely grumpy.
There is a part which actually happened towards the beginning of the dream which I want to talk about as well. I learned that the Academy has a hover mechanism (grayish, spinning turbine vaguely like a centered, up-and-down jet engine) because there is a vision/flashback/alternate reality where something causes the hover mechanism to burst into flames and the entire Academy to plummet down down down and into pieces. This may have been a destruction of a first one a long time ago or vision of a future destruction or some sort of time loop (I could even see it as like a preview of a later story in this dream like "Cause and Effect" from Star Trek: TNG). But the narrator got tired of the destructive loop being shown and decided get on with the main story as I've described it in the dream (the narrator seemed to have powers but this wasn't talked about much and it was more towards the early parts so I'll ignore it for now).
Back to the Auditorium with the new-girl and her new friend at the Academy. The two of them spent some time talking at the auditorium after the lecture and everyone had shuffled out. It's pretty clear that both kinda like each other but it's not sure that the best friend used to be a boy or is a born-girl. It's clear she quietly likes the new-girl though. The new girl is talking about how it's going to be her birthday tomorrow. The new friend's eyes light up and you can see these plans for making it fun turning in her mind. But the new girl shiftly notes that a couple friends from her home universe and a cheerleader friend in particular got special permission to visit her in her (I think) dorm area. They're bringing a cake and a lot of other stuff for fun. The new friend kinda gets a little sad. The new girl says "Well, you're welcome to come." And the new friend gets a little embarrased and comes up with some kind of half-hearted excuse and gets really embarrassed at herself it seems. At which point, the room begins locking down with this strange, crystaline locking mechanism and both girls in their dressy/skirty school outfits need to hustle over to make their way through what's left of the opening before it completely locks down. They make it through in time but soon realize the Outer seal has already closed...and it's a holiday tomorrow (as well as the new girl's birthday)...so they may be stuck here for a while. The new-girl grumbles about how the instructor could have known they were there and let them get sealed in (but I smell some sort of secret goings on with getting these two together perhaps but that's outside the scope of even Narrator-Me).
The new friend doesn't seem too bothered, because she gets to spend some time with her (there is girl-girl interest up the wazoo :p...and the suggestion that the cheerleader may be interested as well...oh those yuri triangles).
They just sat down on the floor, against the wall to kill some time when I was suddenly woken up (good thing too...because I was able to remember a great deal of this incredible dream). At which point I neglected all else to be able to record this dream here. I immediately felt like it was important. Despite whatever potential mis-remembering, I felt there was a very interesting spirit at the center of this dream which very much reminds me of Nina's work on the Magical Academy. Very intriguing since I've done some thinking on it in the past but not recently and then this dream just about clobbers me on the head with a ton of these ideas. Very cool. I'm so glad I was able to save the core of it and I hope something is able to come of it inspiration-wise.
