Quiet Weekend...

Slowly working on some writing. Catching up on things.
I have one particular note.
My Fair Lady is a pile of crap.
The music is nice, the actors are great, but the tropes are just revolting to me. Ugggggggh. *throws the disk away*
I mean my gosh...there are scenes where I'm expecting someone to note how ridiculous this is...especially the rich people all in the same color scenes. There's some sign as to the commentary and it's an interesting film but where it goes and ends up...I need more of a satirical bend to stomach it.
Also, I can see how the douche at the center inspired Stewie in Family Guy. What a big baby...
I like Fringe however...fourth episode especially. Despite all the weirdness...the characters kick complete ass. I'd say the characters are (two-thirds of them) much more interesting than where X-Files was at the end of season one. The female character at the center feels so...dull and unexplored. There is a trauma in her life and it's interesting...but at this point she's so vanilla...and such a neutral observer...that I think she could be half-robot @_@. The characters surrounding her are so much more interesting. Hopefully the rest of the season will make things much more interesting.
All that said "The Observer" (aka the absolutely bald guy who always watches weird things happen and who feels like an alien) is quite intriguing.

Hell, the first colored person to play Basketball professionally in the USA was a Japanese man, and this was during WW2 o.o
