Apparently my modem is defective...

I keep getting kicked off regularly...
So I need to call before 4 PST tomorrow about a replacement. And call at 1-800-861-2974...
Crap...now I'll need to update all the wi-fi codes and other crap and such...
I got a yellowish light on a 2Wire modem...I reset it but it hasn't been right since. Anyone with a clue that the deal is? I have to connect my modem's power right to the wall because its plug won't fit into any powertap. I worry that it got a random surge and it's a bit damaged.
The lady on the line said it is a defective modem and she said it rather fast compared to some of the news I get back to "try this...try that". Oh well. Gonna try and rectify it as soon as I can...
